In the Middle Ages, the inhabitants of Florence thought that the Baptistery was an old building dating back to Roman times.

The Bell Tower of Giotto:

The bell tower of Giotto is one of the four main monuments of the Piazza del Duomo. The most eloquent example of the Gothic architecture of the fourteenth century in Florence.
